Gynecology and Pelvic Medicine
Aims and Scope
Gynecology and Pelvic Medicine (ISSN 2617-4499; Gynecol Pelvic Med; GPM; gpm.amegroups.com; gpm.amegroups.org) is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal covering various aspects in the gynecology and pelvic medicine, including gynecological oncology (with focus on ovarian cancer and cervical carcinoma), pelvic medicine (with focus on urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapses, pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, and interstitial cystitis), as well as benign gynecological disease (including infection, endometriosis, abnormality, endocrinology, etc). It welcomes publications relevant to diagnosis and prevention, surgery, medical oncology, radiation medicine, pathology, basic cancer research, epidemiological and translational studies in the field.
GPM is indexed and covered by the Web of Science [Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)].
As the Official Journal of the West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University/West China Women’s and Children’s Hospital, GPM aims to provide an international and comprehensive platform for academic and practitioner worldwide to share and exchange ideas as well as to further prompt academic communication domestic and overseas.
The West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University (WCSUH- SCU), also known as West China Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Sichuan University, is directly supervised by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China. It originated from the Renji Women’s Hospital that was set up in 1896. In 1987, the hospital was established on the basis of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Pediatrics in the University Hospital of the former West China University of Medical Sciences. After the merger of West China University of Medical Sciences and Sichuan University, the hospital has taken its present names. The hospital was one of the first national top tertiary hospitals, and the first internet hospital in Sichuan Province. The hospital initiated the Regional Medical Consortium Program in 2016, and the contracted hospitals are supposed to reach 100. As a medical center for women and children in southwestern China and a university hospital, the hospital plays important roles in medical services, education, research, disease prevention and healthcare.

GPM is a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and it follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)'s guidelines and the ICMJE recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journal.
Manuscripts submitted must be the original work of the author(s) and must not be published previously or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Submission Turnaround Time
- In-house review: 1-3 weeks
- External peer review: 1-3 months
- Publication Ahead of Print: within 1 month after being accepted
- Formal publication: within 1-3 months after being accepted. Original Articles are listed as priority.
Publication schedule
GPM was published continuously from May 2018 to Dec. 2019 and has been published quarterly starting from 2020.

GPM is a peer reviewed, open access journal. All content of the journal is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial- NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for all to read, download, copy and distribute as defined by the applied license.
