Francesco Cosentino, MD

Dr. Francesco Cosentino obtained his Medical Degree in 1999, Certification cum laude in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2004.

He is presently Director of Gynecologic Oncologic Unit at Fondazione Giovanni Paolo II Università Cattolica di Campobasso.

He is also consultant for advanced pelvic and robotic surgery at the Fondazione Agostino Gemelli IRCSS Università Cattolica di Roma.

In his career, he is always been interested in abdominal and pelvic surgery of the gynecologic oncologic sphere, but also in deep endometriosis and reconstructive surgery of the pelvic floor. In addition to laparoscopic and laparotomic surgical techniques, he is a convinced supporter of robotic surgery.

Dr. Cosentino has performed more than 6000 surgical procedures.

Lecturer in several national and international courses of gynecologic oncologic and deep endometriosis surgery organized at CLASS school (Catholic Laparoscopic Advanced Surgical School) at the Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli IRCSS in Rome.

In addition to his clinical responsabilities, he is involved in scientific research in ovarian, endometrium and cervical cancer, and he is also Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in several research trials in the use of experimental drugs for ovarian and cervical cancer.

He is a member of MITO Group Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian cancer and gynecologic malignancies.
