Ludwig Kiesel, MD, PhD is Chairman and Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, University Hospital of Münster, Münster, Germany.

After the Postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, USA from 1981 to 1982 (Award of the Deutsche Forschungsgemein¬schaft), Dr. Kiesel completed his Resident at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Heidelberg from 1983 to 1990, and worked there as Faculty Member from 1990 to 1992. He received his PhD at the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 1992.

And then Dr. Kiesel moved to and worked at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Tübingen rom 1992 to 2000, with subspeciality training in gynecologic oncology, reproductive medicine and obstetrics. He has been the Chairman at Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, University of Muenster since 2000.

Dr. Kiesel is also the Chair at the Center of Excellence in Endometriosis, Münster, with special interests in endometriosis and gynaecological oncology, specifically medical and surgical therapy of endometriosis and myoma, novel mechanisms of cellular regulation of endometriosis, and clinical trials benign and malignant gynaecological diseases.

Dr. Kiesel has been actively involved in many medical societies.
